Burn more calories with a metabolism booster - 11-1-2007 19:27:47
Many if not most of the calories your body burns are burned through the simple act of living, not by your extreme physical activity. That is, you burn many calories just sitting in front of your computer or lying down watching TV or even just sleeping. Of course, you burn more calories running 5 miles in an hour than you do during an hour of sleeping, but you probably don't exercise much more than an hour of day,and the other 23 hours you spend in mild to zero activity.
Therefore, a metabolism booster can help you burn a lot of calories, because it works during the 23 or 23 1/2 hours you're not exercising.

How Many Calories In A...? - 11-5-2008 13:34:37 I'm starting a new series. Quick and to the point. I ask you how many calories in a food, and you tell me how much. Each time, I'll give you a clue.
So, how many calories in a Taco Bell 7-layer burrito? It only takes five minutes to eat it, but a 200 pound guy would have to go backpacking for 55 minutes to work it off.

KFC Calories - 15-10-2006 21:05:40 KFC (formerly Kentucky Fried Chicken) ran a commerical yesterday promoting its famous bowls. A combination of mashed potatoes, corn, fried chicken and gravy was advertised.
Curious as to how many calories were in this, we hit KFC's web site. We couldn't find the bowl, but we were able to get close:
Chicken Pot Pie: 770 calories, 40 grams of fatMashed Potato Bowl: 490 calories, 31 grams of more »

Do an Extra Ten, It's Worth It - 18-3-2008 10:00:00 One thing that I have been doing is adding on an extra ten minutes onto my cardio workout once a week. In the grand scheme of things, ten minutes is really nothing — in the calorie burning scheme of things, it's a significant amount. Here's how it breaks down:
Ten minutes of . . .
Walking (3 mph) burns 50 more calories
Swimming burns 69 more calories
Jogging burns 80 more calories
StairMaster burns 80 more calories
Rowing Machine burns 99 more calories

a collection of photographs of different types of food items that contain exactly 200 calories, sorted from low to high calorie density. Burn Calories By Throwing A Baseball - 31-3-2007 8:12:36 With the start of the new baseball season, we were curious as to how many calories throwing a baseball would burn. According to Calorie-Count, playing catch with a baseball or a football burns 170 calories per hour.

Not a lot of calories, but certainly more than you would burn by sitting in front of the TV. Miracle Noodles - 2-10-2006 0:47:05
I've never been good at counting calories, not because I don't care about what or how much I'm eating and where it ultimately settles on my body, but because calorie information (along with most other nutritional facts) just doesn't stick with me. Of course, I understand the basics: a medium-sized brownie is more fattening than a medium-sized banana, fried foods are bad, and all real foods -- even cotton candy -- have calories.
There are some surreal foods, though, that have no calories. For instance, these Miracle Noodles found by the Hungry Girl have exactly ZERO calories. Why? They're made of pure fiber (yam flour). The Hungry Girl reports that they taste like they have no calorie more »
