| Buzz Out Loud 534: Google's huevos grande - 8-8-2007 14:53:55 Man, Google--so brazen. They're going to let newsmakers comment on news stories right on the Google News results page. Doesn't that make the Google News site, already the target of angry news organizations that feel their copyrights are being infringed, even more of a news destination on its own? Oh, who knows? I'm sure Google knows what it's doing. In other news, what's Kaboodle again? more »

| How Google News Indexes - 28-7-2006 23:44:10 Google News editors make a choice which sources to include. Sometimes, they find the sites themselves, and at other times, you can simply ask them and see if they take your site. Google News does not have a policy against blogs anymore.

Of course, stories don't have to be exactly the same to be matched -- but if they are too different, they'l ... more »

| New Google News Image Version - 26-6-2007 12:05:38 Google News is available in a new image version. To see it, go to the normal Google News and click the "image version" link to the left side. You will now see relevant news images along with a small subtitle. Hovering over an image will dynamically move the right-hand news description into the top position, and clicking on it will forward you to the news report. The new image grid will not just work for the frontpage, but also for any search query that yields News results.
This is an interesting new visual window to Google News. It feels a bit more like zapping news channels than with the old, more text-oriented Googl ... more »
